Alison Hall Sundby
When we hear someone’s story, we are reminded of our shared humanity. As an immigration attorney, I have the privilege of listening with compassion to understand each client’s story and share it in a way that reflects their unique background and goals. I understand that the immigration process can feel overwhelming and complex, so I strive to offer clients both support and clarity. Together, we navigate the immigration journey as a team.
Since 2010, I have represented immigrants from diverse backgrounds, focusing on family-based petitions and humanitarian relief for survivors of domestic violence and other serious crimes. It has been an honor to build long-lasting relationships with many clients, guiding them from their initial applications to naturalization as U.S. citizens.
My dedication to immigration law is deeply personal, shaped by close family members who immigrated to the U.S. Helping run my family’s small business has given me firsthand insight into the hard work and challenges of building a business and establishing a life in a new country. These experiences strengthen my commitment to treating every client with understanding and respect.
Before practicing law, I developed a global perspective through academic and professional experiences abroad. I studied in Spain, worked at law firms in the Canary Islands and Argentina, and taught English at the University of Concepción in Chile. At the University of Colorado Law School, I focused on immigration and public interest law by interning with nonprofits, clerking for immigration judges, and volunteering at an immigration detention center to advocate for individuals in removal proceedings. These experiences deepened my dedication to providing effective and supportive legal assistance.
Outside of the office, you can often find me enthusiastically cheering at my children’s sporting events. I also love being outdoors—whether exploring nature with my family or challenging my balance by learning to surf. In my office, I keep a globe where I have marked each client’s home country. It serves as a visual reminder of the many journeys I have been fortunate to support. The globe reflects my love of travel and appreciation for different cultures, qualities that continually shape my work as an immigration attorney.
