Johnna Schmidt
I have worked in the legal field since 2000, bringing 25 years of specialized experience in immigration law. Over the course of my career, I have supported a wide range of cases, including naturalizations, legal permanent residency, DACA applications, and various employment-based petitions.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Spanish and am a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Delta International Sociology Honor Society. My background includes tutoring elementary students in English as a Second Language (ESL), interning with the Oregon Youth Authority to support at-risk youth, and assisting in the implementation of a local juvenile court system. While in school, I had the opportunity to participate in a student/cultural exchange program in Heredia, Costa Rica, which was a valuable experience that continues to shape how I connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
What I find most fulfilling about my work is building strong relationships with clients and supporting them in achieving their goals. Whether reuniting families or guiding professionals through complex immigration processes, it is deeply rewarding to contribute to outcomes that have a profound impact on people’s lives. I also value the teamwork among my colleagues, which strengthens the work we do on every case.
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time in nature—whether hiking, paddleboarding, or traveling with my family. I find relaxation in reading and also in caring for the animals on our small hobby farm. I have been fortunate to visit some incredible destinations, and my favorites include the cenotes and ruins of Quintana Roo and Yucatán in Mexico, the Hawaiian Islands, and the beauty of Banff and Jasper in Alberta, Canada.
